Pilot Taariq Imami’s First PNP Flight

So I did my first ever Pilots N Paws (PNP) Mission, and even though it cost me twice as much as my normal flights, I’d rather fly less frequently and continue doing this. It was a blast!

The weather was clear the entire route: KGNV X04 40J KGNV. I departed from Gainesville (KGNV) at 9 AM and cruised at 5500 ft to Apopka (X04) and picked up Loki, a 3 year old husky, and also met Francia who runs her own rescue. She really cared for Loki and was happy he found a home. After tethering him, I could tell he was a little nervous but he instantly calmed down on the climb out. We flew to Perry Foley Airport (40J) at 6500 ft. Loki was mostly just laying down but occasionally looking out the window. My roommate fell asleep but he took care of that and licked his face and woke him right back up.

We landed at Perry Foley around 12 and after struggling to find the gate, we met John who was taking Loki in to his home. I could tell both of them were happy and it felt amazing after years of my training to use it for a great cause. After walking around Perry Foley’s FBO for a bit (by the way it’s crazy desolate on weekends I guess) my roommate and I got ready and finished off the flight cruising at 5500 ft back to Gainesville.

We tied down the plane and just got back home. It was pretty tiring. I did 4.0 on the Hobbs, which is the most I have ever done in a day but I would definitely do it again. It’s extremely rewarding, tax deductible, and has no hour requirement.

I already miss the lil’ pupper.
