Jim Carney was planning a flight from Covington Airport in Tennessee to St Louis, MO with three dogs lucky enough to hitch a ride in his flying carpet.  The night before, he found a post for a 50-pound pointer needing a ride to escape a Memphis shelter.  True to his fashion, he offered to add Gilly to the manifest and fly another 200 miles to get the pointer to the other side of Missouri to give the rescue a short drive to the final destination.

The only hitch was the rescue had to line things up to get the dog to Jim and a receiver on the other end in less than 24 hours.  As happens often in the rescue world, the players didn’t miss a beat and Gilly flew her way out of danger and into loving arms.
