Missing Ground Leg Filled by Air
Tyson is a 12 pound maltese / rat terrier mix in need of a little help. He was left at a veterinarian’s practice in Mississippi, and they found a way to get him into rescue at Min Pins & More. But, as often often happens, that rescue was a few states away. Tyson needed a lift to Lima, OH.
Joan Nickum is one of the many coordinator-extraordinaires, and is good at making these trips happen. She worked to move Tyson by ground, but the stretch from Clarksdale to Memphis is always hard to fill, and this transport proved to have the same challenge.
Adam Akin and his dad, Bob, stepped in to help for their first Pilots N Paws mission. Bob just returned to the cockpit last year after not flying since his time as a vietnam helicopter pilot 46 years ago. Thanks for your service Bob – for both our country and now the animals that need help.
Lynn and his wife drove Tyson to Memphis, where he overnighted with a volunteer who then got him to the airport to meet Adam and Bob. The two pilots flew him to Nashville, where Tyson would continue his journey.
Subaru and Petmate are proud sponsors of Pilots N Paws!
