By Karon Stewart,

A little American Eskimo dog (we call her Sophie) was not well taken care of by her owners and was found as a stray in a high kill shelter with a troubled eye and a bowed leg.  Eskie Rescuers United pulled her just in time, and she was fostered by Arlene Young in Darien, Georgia while transport could be arranged to get her to a specialist in Maryland.  Leon Jackler offered to fly down and get this small cutie to take her back to Heidi Ortmeyer of Randallstown, MD where she will be taken to the ERU specialist as soon as possible.  Leon was wonderful with her and he buckled her in as his co-pilot. Eskie  Rescuers United wants to thank Pilots ‘N Paws for transporting so many of our beautiful American Eskimo dogs and helping them get a new life.
