At 9 a.m. on a cloudless mid April Saturday, Bae boarded Tom Slater’s Cessna 2012 172SP and took off  from RDU headed to Blacksburg, VA. A good citizen Marie Liebelt had learned of Bae’s plight a few weeks ago and contacted CrisisDogsNC. Bae’s owner had abandoned this 9 year old Newfy mix in the yard when she moved.

Marie sponsored Bae’s vetting and a few days later he was ready for flight to his new home in Blacksburg VA.

Pilot Tom Slater wrote: “Another successful PnP ( mission completed. Weather even cooperated. Bae was a little nervous at first but the drone of the engine allowed him to nap some on the way to his new home. What no snacks?”
