Our longest trip yet

Kim and I were planning on taking the Baron on a trip to grab a day or two of skiing before the season completely ended.   As we set up the dates, Kim started scouring the flight requests, reaching out to our contacts, to see if we could couple the trip with a Freedom Flight along the way.   Through Nicole Maniates, she found a couple of Huskies looking to get to Yuba County, or possibly Oregon.   I told her Oregon is a pretty big place, and asked her to get more specific; turned out they were going right where we were headed in Bend.

On the morning of the trip, Scotty who had fostered one of the dogs, took on the 2 hour drive from Palmdale to Temecula, and met us at our hangar at French Valley airport.   Alpha was a big boy, and very nervous.   It took some coaxing to get him into the airplane, and harnessed in.  During the first leg of the trip Kim had to sit in back with him quite a bit to keep him settled in place, he wanted to move around a lot.

We made a quick stop in Fresno, where a lady named Jennifer brought us our second passenger, a smaller female named Bella.  Once we got Bella loaded up and harnessed in next to Alpha (whom Kim decided to rename Baron Chandler), both dogs settled in and lay down next to each other, content to share the space together.

Two and a half hours later we landed at Bend Municipal, where we were met by April Lane, whose rescue was taking on the two.

This will be a regular thing for us.  Any time we are going somewhere, we will always be looking to make that flight a Freedom Flight.    Thanks as always to Pilots N Paws for opening this door for us.
