Hurricane Florence Flight: Wilmington, NC to Freeport, Maine
Editor’s Note: Kathy Hynes in MA coordinated to move animals out of harms way when Florence hit. She has her own rescue (Got Spots Etc.) and her husband is a commercial pilot who helps her plot these out. They both worked really hard at making three Hurricane Florence Relief Flights happen. Here’s the first story.
4 beagles in Wilmington, NC were set for ground transport to Freeport, Maine and Hurricane Florence paid a visit. The beagles needed to be shuffled around due to flooding. Although Rescuer Ava with RescueConnect had to evacuate due to flooding, she made sure all beagles were safe. When it was safe to fly into Wilmington and safe for Ava to return, the precious 4 boarded a flight being flown by PNP pilot Kay Cross for their first leg.
They then met pilot Jeff Rednor and continued north to Ed Abrams who took them the final leg to Freeport Maine where Chris with Tall Tails Beagle Rescue was waiting for them.
