48th Freedom Flight
Last week we did our 48th Freedom Flight, bringing our total animals transported to 112. We brought Kim’s parents along with us, and started out with a quick jump from French Valley, to Bakersfield, and breakfast at The Rocket Shop Cafe. Dezara and Cody met us at the airport, and dropped off 2 puppies they’d named Ireland and Skye. It was tough for them to part with the girls, since they’d rescued them from walking the streets. They knew Nancy Jimeno, and Ozzie & Friends Rescue, would take care of them.
From Bakersfield we made a quick flight up to Visalia, meeting with Ketrena Poulson, and Angela Tucker, who brought a brindle pittie named Holly to us.
From Visalia, we went back to Brackett Field, and met with Joe Conde, who took all 3 dogs to the rescue.
A couple of gassy puppies, and some bumps along the flight, but well worth every bit of it.
Thank you as always to Pilots N Paws for this opportunity, as well as supporting us with supplies.
I’m going to continue my tradition of making videos for each flight. Here is our 48th:
Derek Heikes & Kim Bemis
