Freedom Flights 50 & 51

This past week we were going on a short skiing trip, and coordinated it with 2 different Freedom Flights.  The first was for Hearts 4 Paws, which had several small dogs to go from SoCal to Salt Lake City.   Kathy Mone and Laurie Epperson helped coordinate, and Chris Hopson made the drive with 6 dogs out to French Valley (F70) to meet us at our hangar.   Chris, and the rescue, did a great prep job, having collars and leashes on each dog, in all of their carriers.  Chris walked them all, and had them ready for the flight.

Kim loaded all of the crates, situated them with blankets to keep everyone warm.  Our 6 passengers were:  Hollywood, Nikko, Yoshi, Ribsy, Journey, and Findlay.
We spent 2 days skiing, then headed out earlier than expected on the 10th to avoid strong winds and more snow moving into the area, as well as to beat the next round of rain moving into SoCal.   Our trip took us a bit out off the straight route home, though, as we swung down to Phoenix, for another flight Kathy Mone had asked us to do. Our route of flight took us over the Grand Canyon, which was spectacular.  At Phoenix Chandler airport, we picked up Tyga, an energetic pit mix, to bring him to SoCal to find his forever home.

The rain had moved into SoCal by the time we got back to F70, but it was smooth flying all the way through.   Just over 6 hours of flying that day, right around 9 for the full trip.  Worth every minute of it.
Our thanks to all who were involved, and to Pilots N Paws for the continued support and motivation.
Here is our video in celebration of 50 flights, with many many more to come:
