Derek Heikes and Kim Bemis’s 58th Freedom Flight

We did our 58th Freedom Flight, details and a video on that to come…it was supposed to combine into a pick up on the way back for our 59th, but with us getting in after 11:00 p.m. it just got too late.
Our friend Winston, who has accompanied us before, had his mom ask for help with a flight request.   I guided her to posting it on the PnP boards, and it happened that we had the time to do the flight.   When we started out the day, our plan was to get a required maintenance check done (estimated only an hour to do) then fly to NorCal for #58, and stop by Brackett Field for 2 kittens on the way back.   After postponing due to the time yesterday, we woke up, reconnected, and planned to get the flight done today.  Unfortunately my airplane was already being used, so we ended up doing it in one of our flying club’s rental planes, a C172.
Quick flight up to Brackett, where we picked up the two kittens, and brought them back to Robbin Lynn and their new forever home.  Tentatively named Dallas and Leeloo, they have a great life ahead of them.
Not only has Pilots N Paws opened the doors for us to help others, but now to help friends and their families out as well.   We are forever grateful for the opportunities to do this.
