Two Broken Legs won’t keep “Bill” from walking again!

This is the story of “Bill”, the beautiful black lab who wouldn’t stop wagging his tail and giving kisses– in spite of the fact that he could not walk.

Bill's adorable face, ready for his flight!

Bill was a stray who had been hit by a car and ended up at a shelter in N.C.  As you will read from the comments below, some very determined people and two PNP  pilots , Art Cooler and Robbie Sanders, making their first rescue flight changed this darling boy’s life!

Pilot Art carries Bill on board......

All comfy in the backseat of the plane!

Pilots Robbie and Art arrive with Bill in Hilton Head

From Whitney Knowlton, Last Chance Animal Rescue:
Bill is on his way to the airport!!!!  He will arrive at the airport in Hilton Head to the caring arms of  Noah’s Ark!!!  I am sooooooo happy for him!!  Thank you so much to EVERYBODY who helped to make this dream come true!!!
(In no particular order)

Humane Society of Richmond County:
Allison Sweatt, Tessie Caulder-Baldwin, and Alley Jo Baldwin who have decided that killing injured animals at the HSRC is a thing of the past!   They have chauffered Bill around while in their custody and promise to help raise money for his continued care!!  Thank you for your “dogged” determination to make HSRC a NO KILL Shelter!!

Pilots N Paws:
Debbie Boies who called EVERY NC/SC PILOT THAT SHE COULD FIND A NUMBER FOR TO SECURE THIS EMERGENCY FLIGHT!! And to Art Cooler and Robbie Sanders, the FABULOUS pilots who are donated this lifesaving flight!! Welcome to RESCUE

Noah’s Ark’s Rescue:
Jennifer Smith who has so graciously accepted our Bill into her wonderful rescue!! We will NOT forget you!!
Gudrun Kaiser who has offered to go and pick up Bill at the airport tonight to take to Jennifer’s!

And last but certainly not least………………………

Regina Seaton-Oertle who decided that Bill’s life was her MISSION to save!!  I think your mother would be very proud!!  You are such a great friend to us all!! Thank you for seeing this through!!  Bill, who by the way was nicknamed Scooter at the vet’s office, would lick you to pieces if he could…  I am sure of it!!!

I know I speak for ALL of us when I say GOD BLESS Bill on his journey and we look forward to seeing his progress!!  Whitney

From Tessie: Volunteer with  the Humane Society of Richmond County
“Alley Jo & I have just arrived back at the shelter from our trip to the airport for Bill’s sky-way excursion. I literally cried the entire time he was awaiting the plane to arrive. When the pilot arrived, I told him that my tears were tears of joy. My reasoning was knowing that had Bill come into our lives just a few weeks before, he would have been killed. It gave me chills. I’m not the crying type & have not cried in a very long time. This was a humbling experience met with reality that a No-Kill shelter CAN and DOES exist! Thank you, Whitney for all your efforts & coaching. Love, Tessie”

From the generous pilots, Art and Robbie,  on their first rescue flight:

It was a great trip, let us know how he does with his surgery.

Bill was a sweet dog and it was the perfect evening for flying. We were happy to be able to help, and look forward to doing more soon.
