An Atypical Rescue
by Pete Tobin
We’ve had another successful dog rescue.
…well, “rescue”…? This one wasn’t nearly as dramatic as some of the rescues we’ve participated in. The only dire consequences here were two foster families with the really wrong fit. Long story short, through the “Pilots ‘n Paws” web site we learned about two foster families who were each nurturing a dog that wasn’t really working out.

Cole getting ready to start his new adventure to join a new family to become a Bird Dog. What a sweetheart.
Here, in my home town of Glenview, there was a Pointer named Cole that simply had way way too much energy for the family he was living with. He kept jumping over the fence and chewing rugs and furniture because he wasn’t getting enough exercise.
Meanwhile, in Maryville, MO there was a hunting family who also had a Pointer, this one named Charlie. And Charlie is just getting a little too old to join the gang out in the marshes and the woods. Charlie needs to chill out on the rug at home in front of the fireplace.

Loading Charlie in Maryville, MO. He is a love bug, but... Geeze! He stinks! He's been playing in the marshes a little too long without a bath!
So, both families agreed to trade dogs. But, neither family was in a position to transport the dogs. This is, of course, where Pilots n’ Paws steps in; and, we agreed to fly both dogs back & forth.
Overall, a very successful day and two very nice dogs are off to start new lives with new families. 🙂
Best Wishes to all.
