Waggin Train and 11th Hour Rescues
Just wanted to share with you some photos from am amazing rescue transport from Jan 25th. Willie, an adorable and lovable one eyed chocolate lab, and Boomer, a wonderful and friendly little basset mix were from the Roanoke Rapids NC Animal Control. Several folks worked tirelessly to spare their lives and get them out of the kill shelter. We will never know what their lives were like before they entered the animal control facility, but we do know that the rest of their lives will be filled with happiness, thanks to all of their new friends. Willie is now at the Eleventh Hour Rescue group in New Jersey, and Boomer is with the Waggin Train Rescue in NYC.
The original transport had been planned for the previous weekend but had to be postponed due to inclement weather. It was an urgent situation to get these little guys up to their rescues. NC volunteer Nancy and her husband Bob drove them to Maryland on Wednesday morning to meet pilot Janice Reeder-Highleyman. From there, Janice flew her VIP customers to Caldwell, NJ (CDW).
Both pups are now resting comfortably while they wait for their forever families to find them. We hope that the rescue groups will tell their new families what special friends they have and how they flew first class, thanks to Pilots N Paws!
A BIG BIG thanks to Janice and her husband for all of their time spent on making this trip happen. There were so many emails and phone calls and Janice really worked hard to make this all work for everyone!
