Saving Miss Zoe !

Zoe’s Story

February 5th, 2012 wasn’t just Super Sunday for football fans, it was a start of a new life for Zoe the Border Collie. With the willingness of two PNP pilots, Zoe made an incredible 650 mile trip from Salt Lake City, Utah to Phoenix, AZ.

Zoe meets her pilots Kurt and Billy !

Her journey started in mid January when Grantsville Shelter near Tooele, Utah sent out an urgent plea to rescues since they were very over capacity. AZ Border Collie Rescue stepped up for Zoe – a young, petite girl that needed their help. Transport was a difficult issue, so help from Pilots N Paws was sought.

Zoe and her second pilot take a minute to pose!

Adorable Faces 🙂

Several pilots stepped up with offers to help with this transport, and on Sunday, Kurt from SLC and Billy from Phoenix meet in St George to get Zoe to safety. A heartfelt thanks to Todd in Prescott, Nate in Utah and especially Kurt – who actually took Zoe in for a few days, and wonderful Billy who has a BC of his own and didn’t hesitate to help little Zoe.

Love the sun and being held!

Thanks also to Denise – the never say never volunteer at Grantsville. Here’s to your new happy life Zoe!

I can help you fly this thing!

A thank you bark !

I am Zoe’s foster mom and wanted to let you know that she is an awesome little lady that will adopted quickly (I am sure). She has fit into our “herd” of seven other border collies easily! She is a very smart border collie and I can’t tell you how much my husband and I appreciate you flying her here for us. We live in Payson Az so after she got
Dropped off at deer valley she had another hour and a half ride into the mountains. My husband and I are pilots (we sold our planes within the past few years) so we realize the expense that you incurred and appreciate it greatly. We will keep you updated on her progress! But feel free to contact us if you would like to know how she is doing.

    Hi Linda,

I am the one who flew here back to AZ. Had I known she was going to Payson I could have just dropped her there. Saved her a drive. I fly over to payson several times a month for breakfast. Please keep me posted on Miss Zoe I sure did love having her. My wife and I would have adopted her had we not already had 2 dogs. Billy
