I too could offer to fly the first leg (as a backup to cardrac2000). Abilene is great, Dallas would be fine too.

You mentioned that she is shy and does well with other dogs. How is she with cats and 4ft fences? (I.e. does she jump to escape or does she value being with humans who feed her and love her?) I could potentially offer short-time foster in Austin if needed.

Thanks.... We may also have 40 lb momma & 10 4-wk old puppies to add to the load, but still need to figure out how to get them up to the TX panhandle to connect w/Denver pilot.

If more dogs are added, I would be unable to assist due to aircraft size. Fortunately, Lou has given you an alternative.

Yikes, two grown dogs plus a cage with 10 puppies? That is pretty much a no-go for small GA airplanes. I don't think mine would be able to handle it. And of course then there is the question of the dogs getting along well and the puppies being continent at only 4 weeks of age.
How big are the puppies and are they in some kind of a cage? What size cage? Would the mom be in the cage with them?

Mom is approx. 40lbs & puppies are tiny so likely all could go in one crate together.
But safety first... and always....

By coincidence, I am going to the airport tonight so I will double check measurements for the crate and see how muchroom the would be for another dog.

Are the pups continent yet? How can they be walked between flights? Might be a "fun" task! :)

Is Gypsy in Tulia now? (October 2, 2014 at 11 am) What time does she need to be in Dumas?

Sybil, may I suggest you post for a ride from DFW to Dumas in Texas Transport, and also Texas TransportS? (2 different pages.) Also, perhaps Oklahoma Transports too. Heidi
