Mission
Fly one Mom Dog and her four Puppies from Long View, TX to Pine Bluff, AR and on to Carbondale, IL where ground transport will get the pooches to Chicago. Also, we were able to coordinate at the last minute a PNP flight request from Kateryna Silvestro for a pregnant dog from the same area. This turned out to be a WIN WIN for all.

PNP Pilot Jeff Wall flew from Jackson, MS to Long View, TX for the pickup. After Cindy Hooker met him at Long View with the dogs, he flew to Pine Bluff, AR to meet me. I had flown down earlier from Covington, TN to Pine Bluff, AR.  Jeff and I loaded the dogs into my plane and I departed for Carbondale, IL.  The weather was very good so the flight was uneventful.

UPDATE
Harper was the last minute add on from Long View, TX. She was going to have puppies in about two weeks. Well she had them today, all eight of them. The last report, Mom Harper and Puppies are doing OK.

I flew Dobie Phoenix from Columbus, MS to OH several years ago. She was also going to have Puppies. She gave birth to several Puppies shortly after I flew her which earned me the nick name around Pilots n Paws, Uncle Jim. I among several other veteran Pilots n Paws Pilots were featured in the book, Dog is my Copilot by Patrick Regan. The story about Phoenix is in Patrick’s book. Well, after flying Harper, I get to keep my nick name, Uncle Jim.
