26 on Flight 43
Todd and I started our 43rd Pilots N Paws Rescue at (3M5) Moontown Airport in Huntsville, Alabama, our home base. We headed to Jasper in Walker County Alabama where we met Tracy Raburn. Tracy had a litter of 7 terrier mixes, litter of 8 lab mixes, Junebug, April, Myla, and a nursing momma with her 7 puppies. With everyone on board, we took off in great weather and a nice tailwind to Enterprise, Alabama. We met up with Mike Young from Orlando, Florida. He took the 25 puppies and momma from Enterprise to an Orlando rescue.
It was PUPPY “OVERLOAD” today. It is always very emotional to let the dogs go, but we know the animals are headed for a better life.
All rescues are complex rescues, but they end up very successful. We appreciate how hard the volunteers work facilitating constantly changing dogs, destinations, times, pilots, and weather.
Unfortunately many others aren’t as lucky, and as you all know, the only answer to this devastating issue is to spay/neuter/rescue. All of these dogs are really sweet, and they deserve to be curled up on the living room floor at night not tossed out like trash.
