The big Pilots N Paws transport out of Rock Hill, SC had to be cancelled due to the weather. As a result, the dogs that were to be transported from SC will be rescheduled throughout the upcoming week. Since Heather had already taken Friday off, we decided to jump in our cargo van and drive to Alabama to transport pups that were waiting and fly the SC transport when the rain clears up. Prior to departing the Florida Keys I was notified of a dog (King) at the local shelter that needed to go to Texas and a dog named Brody in Miami that had been adopted and needed a ride to Gainesville, FL. I had just made contact with a ground transporter in New Orleans (Karen) that had 9 Catahoula pups and a badly wounded dog that were going to rescue in Ocala, FL and found that she could make the arrangements for King to get home. Karen drove Blue (the wounded dog) to Greenville, AL where Pilots N Paws’ pilot Pablo Bassabe was waiting to fly him from Greenville, AL to Ocala, FL. and took King for his trip back to Texas. Brody was delivered to his new family on the way north.
After loading up 63 pups in Greenville we made our way to Marianna, FL to pick up the Catahoula pups from one of Karen’s ground transports and a Rottie pup from another of Karen’s transports that was adopted by a family in Boca Raton, FL before heading home delivering pups along the way.

I live in Southport, NC, a few miles from Brunswick County Airport. I would gladly furnish ground transportation or temporary foster care if needed.

I thought the count was 117?

  3. Lorraine Schwarz says:

Is this a service only for rescue dogs? Do the pilots in PNP help with transportation of privately owned animals?

    1. Tanya says:

PNP helps to transport rescue animals. There are several for-profit businesses that will assist you in transporting pets.
