Rescue Flight #55: Jeremiah Buckshot

On 10/18/15 we transported 3 dogs from Cumberland County, NC (located 27 miles north of Myrtle Beach) that had been pulled from a county shelter by a rescue group up in Waynesburg, VA.

Two of the dogs were Coonhounds … one of them was emaciated, his back filled with buckshot and his left leg lame. He was found dying and tied to a tree. In the picture Jeremiah Buckshot (name given to the dog) can be seen wearing a green shirt. It was the first cool morning of the season, and without any hesitation, one of the rescue’s took off their sweatshirt and placed it on dog. As I’ve said before, the contribution we make as volunteer pilots pales in comparison to the tireless work of the rescue groups on the ground. It’s wonderful being part of these animals lives, even for the time they are with us on their flights to safety.
