Three Rescued Dogs Share Their Thoughts
Greg sent in the following note at video:
Went flying today. Tee normally gets locked in the hanger with her food bowl and water bowl, but today she came with me.
Tee is a member of our pack. Her function in the pack (I am the leader) is to show the dogs being rescued that everything is OK and how to behave in our pack. Tee was rescued last January, is telling me about the smoke detector, telephone ringing, alarm clock and door knocking. She passed her public access test last week (restaurant and grocery store with a certified tester) and will be certified a “Hearing Dog” (Guide Dog for the Deaf) soon, probably before she is two years old (12/29 – we don’t know when she was born, but that is when she entered the shelter as a stray with no history and they guessed that she was one year old). Flying with us is a lot less stressful than days in a truck alone. We get to evaluate dog’s temperament, suitability and trainability to become Service Dogs.
