Full of Sass
Sassy the chihuahua was found walking the streets of Nashville, TN. When her guardian angel found her, she was able to locate her owners but they told her they didn’t want her. Sassy found herself homeless and scared. Maybe that is what made her so anxious and nippy?
Little Star Chihuahua Rescue in Montgomery agreed to take her into their rescue and find her a home. I held her on the flight from Nashville to Montgomery and she bit me twice. When we landed, she nipped at her foster Mom who was going to keep her until a permanent home was found. Sassy let everyone know that she was not where she wanted to be. She acted out, she hid, she bit. No one, except Sassy, knew what she wanted.
I had dinner with Lynne Burford, the President of the Rescue some 2 months after the flight. I asked about the nipping little chihuahua and had hoped she had finally found her home and settled in, I prayed she wasn’t still frightened and biting. All my fears were put to rest when Lynne pulled out her phone and showed me this picture. Little nippy Sassy was sleeping on the bed next to her person, a little boy named Noah who is suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
Now we all know what Sassy needed….she needed a job, she needed to help someone! This frightened, biting little chihuahua has a new lease on life. She makes sure Noah stays calm and happy and he makes sure she knows she is loved! They’re inseparable!
