Sadie—Poor mange momma was living in the woods for months with tiny puppies—Flown By Pilots N Paws
This was a rescue of a female husky named Sadie, coordinated by Monica. Young mama Sadie needed transport from Satsuma, AL to Seville, OH. As per the posting: “Poor mange momma was living in the woods for months with tiny puppies- ANOTHER rescue took her puppies back in July and didn’t EVEN TRY to trap momma. WHO DOES THIS!! So wrong.”
On 10/13, pilot Jim picked up Sadie from foster Bridgett at 2R5, St Elmo Airport, Montgomery AL and transported to EET, Shelby County Airport, Alabaster AL. Pilot Mike flew Sadie to SRB, Upper Cumberland Regional, Sparta TN and turned her over to pilot Jan, who headed for SYM, Morehead-Rowan County Airport in Kentucky (a last-minute choice to replace Lexington, closed for presidential TFRs). They were met there by Jurian, who delivered Sadie to receiving rescuer Kathy at 3G3, Wadsworth, OH well after dark and then returned to his home base at OSU.
Sadie was a great traveler. Because I had no dog wrangler with me, I put Sadie in a cage in the baggage compartment. Halfway through my flight, I felt a cold wet nose on the back of my neck! Sadie had worked the back of the cage open and crawled out. After some petting, she happily stood on the back seat and stared out the window, fascinated, for the remainder of the flight.
