Stories on the pups:

Both came from Jacksonville, NC. Daisy (the Chiweenie) was running down a highway when she was about 3 mos. old and someone found her.

Winter was in Onslow shelter and was adopted through Duffy’s Friends before she was available for rescue!

One of Nina’s friends spotted both pups on Craigslist and picked them up so they could be placed at Duffys Friends Rescue in Rochester, NY.

Daisy was evacuated from Wilmington to Raleigh for 8 days because of Florence.

She has a new family waiting for her who has been searching as far as Texas rescues looking for a Chiweenie. They checked with Duffy’s Friends 48 hours before the shelter in NC found her. The family had been praying to find one and they did!

Duffy’s Friends is located in Rochester New York and has been saving lives since 1998. They are a 501-C-3 non profit, no-kill organization.

Most of Duffy’s Friends dogs come from over crowded, high kill shelters with little to no chance of survival. Many are strays, owner discards, or their owners passed away. All are temperament tested and vet checked.
