Paul Trucks fell in love with a dog picked up by Walton Animal Control.  This sweet, beautiful girl, who was known only by her kennel number–BM17, was adopted from a kill shelter by Paul. It was love at first sight, and he has named her Treasure! Paul is in a wheelchair so this wonderful girl will be a treasure to him! She will be his constant companion, and he can’t wait to get her home to him! Paul is able to drive and has a scooter so he will be able to walk Treasure. The coordinator has spoken extensively with Paul and says he is so caring and loves this dog so much even though he doesn’t have her yet.

Two pilots with Pilots and Paws worked together to complete the transport for Treasure’s adoption.  Ed Nunn and his daughter Kelly moved Treasure from DeFuniak Springs to Madison, MS.  Maryke Houben was a typical Pilots n Paws pilot going the extra mile and fostered the pup overnight and finished getting her to Paul.

Maryke adds these details:  The flight to Greensboro went real fine as well as the fostering for Treasure for the day and night. She was a very nice doggie and obviously was somebody’s dog before. She was very well behaved walking and also responded very well to treats. My son fell in love with her and took her in his room.  When I went to sleep I peeked in to see if everything was all right, and there I found her in his bed under the covers with him , sleeping on his pillow… so sweet. I did tell Mala that if for any reason she did not fit in with Paul and his other dog , or something came along that he could not take care of her anymore, I was willing to take her in my house.

Paul was at the airport when his Treasure arrived and took her in his car and disappeared.  He called to update the group that everything went well at his house with the other dog he has.  This girl will be truly loved and treasured for the rest of her life!

Thank you Pilots n Paws pilots for all you do to help get animals to their new better lives! You truly save lives!
