Beau Follow-Up
A few months ago, Jim Carney flew from Covington, TN to Union City, TN to pick up Beau and fly him to Knoxville Downtown Airport. Beau lost his home due to his Mom being unable to take care of him. Beau is now with his new family. See original post: http://www.pilotsnpaws.org/2017/09/beau-goes-flying/
Beau’s new mom sent Jim this update:
Good morning, Jim. It is 7:14 AM here in Wilmington, North Carolina. Beau and I just got back from our walk. We try to make it every day unless it rains – he is terrified of thunderstorms!! I started off with an easy half a mile, and now we’re up to 1 mile a day. Soon I’ll take it to 2 miles and then 3 1/2 but only when the weather cools off. We have had beastly hot weather here!!!!
The dog you just sent the picture of with his new mommy is absolutely gorgeous. Of course, I think all babies are gorgeous – human and fur babies and feather babies and well I think you understand LOL. Thank you so much for sending the pictures.
Beau belonged to a woman in Arkansas. I was told she was either French or German, at any rate she let him run wild and free, so he got heartworms but was cured thank God!! She had gone overseas to see her sister, who was terminal, and just opened the door and let Beau run wild and free for over a month and a half. Poor little guy. Then she was going to have to go into a nursing home and her children we’re going to have Beau taken to a shelter and have him killed!!!!
I had just lost my two babies as I have told you in the past. I was grieving terribly!! I know you know that type of grief. All of us who love our fur babies/just friends, know that feeling. My son and daughter-in-law had my name in for a little Yorky terrier mix puppy that was born July 22 the day before my birthday. Anyway Anna, the rescue coordinator here in North Carolina near Sneads Ferry, asked me to do her a huge favor by fostering this little guy. I thought about it and asked my daughter and she was on board after some time and some persuasion. The rest is history.
When I took Beau to the vet, I told her all about the other puppy on hold for me and I wasn’t really quite sure how this little guy would interact with the other little boy. At any rate, when I took Beau back to the vet because he had bad bacterial ear infections, Dr. Odom said she had been thinking about the two dogs. She said she came up with two scenarios. The first being to keep the puppy, and get rid of this little guy, or keep this little guy and do not take the puppy!! I told her I was not going to get the puppy, but nothing in the world could separate me from this little guy!!!!
I believe he truly is and was the act of God for all of you to bring him to me. Plus, the first time I saw his picture he looked so sad and frightened and confused, and I fell in love with him. I knew right from the start he was my baby!!! I just hate the fact that these poor little things have to go through such torment and torture in hell. They do not deserve to be treated badly, abused, neglected and so on. I asked my son-in-law if he thought that I could be an animal protecting cop, he is a cop himself. He told me no I would have to be a cop and I’m 64 – way too old to start a new career!!!! So I do what I can to take care of what I can and when I can afford to do.
Thank you so much again for sending these pictures I love seeing them and as stated hearing all about their amazing stories!!!! I hope you have a beautiful day God bless you for everything you do!!! God bless everyone who intervenes, protects and loves all animals!!!
