Dixie was a stray found in NC and taken to a kill shelter.  The local rescue group pulled her from the shelter and treated her for parasites.  The owners saw her on FB and claimed they were coming to get her, but they never did.  Eventually,  Dixie travelled north to NJ and stayed in a kennel for a week until she could fly to Niagara Falls.  She was transported by Susan Burke of Underground Railroad Canada to Toronto, where she arrived on April 12, 2015 and has gone into a foster to adopt home on a horse farm. Dixie is such a sweet friendly dog. While I was trying to tether her in the baggage compartment of my plane, she was busy licking my face, rolling over for belly rubs, and pawing me to play. In one of the pictures you can see her jumping up to lick my face.
