Joel was unable to get to the East coast to be on-hand at the national flyaway staging in Rock Hill, SC, but he was still able to be a part of the day’s mission. As a portion of the event, pilots from all over the country completed flights under the umbrella of the flyway.

Joel was able to fly four dogs out of southern California up to rescues in the northern part of the state. Mari Miyatake was a miracle worker in arranging the rescues and made it so easy for everyone to make the logistics work out for the flight. All of the dogs were pulled from local shelters.
