Hurt Husky Pup Found an Angel

Regina, a husky gal, posted in a Husky Group about a hurt husky puppy stuck at the vet after the owners left him there.  Then a rescue angel (Barbara) in northern Florida saw the post and made contact.  The pup was only 4-5 months old, a husky puppy (21 lbs) in a vet in Cleveland, AL (Blount animal Clinic). He had 3!! broken legs & probably hip issues. The owners took him into the vet saying we was hit by a car, but things didn’t add up.

This poor boy was in bad shape, he bad multiple legs broken and the vet had him for over 13 days with no surgeries. The owners tried to pick him back up (not treated), but the vet told them their bill would have to be paid, it was $500. They said they would come back but never did. So the poor pup still sat in the vet’s office, with not being able to walk, stand up, or even go potty on his own.  He was covered in fleas, urine, parasites and wounds! Barbara told the vet we had a rescue to save him and NOT to put him to sleep, but they again wanted the rescue to pay the outstanding bill! WOW! So the rescue (GTS Husky Rescue) didn’t hesitate to pay to break out the puppy and save his life! It was almost $600 just to release him!!

So Barbara drove 4.5 hours to pick him up during the week & back home. Organizing a flight was attempted, but certain areas along the way had bad weather. So part ground it was! They tried to find ground helpers to get him to Perry, FL but it didn’t happen being last minute. So then the next morning we get a message from another pilot, Tracie. Her plane has been getting repaired SO SHE RENTED ONE just to help out!

The next morning Barbara drove to Marianna, FL to meet Tracie (rock star pilot). Even in the horrible weather Tracie flew in and out & picked up the husky pup (Trip) and then on to meet the next pilot Arnaldo in Perry, FL. Arnaldo then flew on to Orlando and our ground helper Scott picked up Trip and took him to the vet near the rescue (Gaisha, Tundra and Spirits Place aka as GTS Husky Rescue based in Jupiter). Thank you all for saving this young puppy, it truly takes a village!

    What a great story!! 🙂
So happy for Trip! I just learned of this org. Amazing! I volunteer with several rescues in SE TX who do varying degrees of ground transport. A lot of people aren’t very nice to animals here and overpopulation is a major problem, so we try to move as many homeless dogs (and sometimes cats) out of TX.
I’m glad you posted the name of the vet. That was messed up!
    Keep up the great work!!
