Mission 59
On Nov 19, 2017, Todd started our 59th Pilots N Paws Rescue at Moontown (3M5) airport. Weather was cool with sunny skies. Todd took off to Walker county airport to meet Tracy Raburn. There was one momma with 9 puppies, 4 hound mix puppies, and one poodle. Oh these puppies were so cute. Loaded the airplane with all passengers and Todd took off to Jacksonville Craig airport. Todd met up with Devon and Jill Barger who loaded their airplane and they took off to Orlando Sanford airport for puppies’ final destination.
This mission was especially memorable because Todd was headed to pick up our daughter so she could come back home and help me out due to a partial knee replacement. Definitely a positive trip and a productive use of the airplane.
As with all freedom flights, this one was particularly complex and chaotic (organized chaos), but ended very successful without much deviation or delay. We appreciate how hard Pilots N Paws staff, the volunteers, and the flight crews work facilitating constantly changing dogs, destinations, times, and weather.
Unfortunately many others aren’t as lucky, and as you all know, the only answer to this devastating issue is to spay/neuter/rescue. All of these dogs are really sweet, and they deserve to be curled up on the living room floor at night not tossed out like trash.
