CLAP of HANDS to Austin Burkett and his daughter who flew Zim today from Bainbridge, Ga to Jacksonville, Fl. Thanks Michele Higham with Paw Paws Pet Rescue for taking him into your rescue in honor of our sweet ex shelter dog Sherman that you gave your time and heart to until he could no longer go on. HUGS to Chuck Wesley getting him to the airport on time. We appreciate the pilots that fly for us, and all the rescuers that save these animals and give them the chance to live ~

Ironically, a year ago yesterday we picked Sherman up at this very same airport (who originally was a rescue from Bainbridge, Ga shelter) ~ Ironically, I picked up Sherman’s remains from the vet yesterday morning ~ Ironically, Sherman’s legacy, Zim arrived at the very same airport yesterday from the same shelter. Sherman was an awesome hound senior boy that left with a lot of health issues and was totally loved by his rescuers – he recently passed of cancer but boy, did he know love in a real home!!
Meet Jackson (aka Zim) ~ named by one of Sherman’s forever supporters. A rescue from Bainbridge & Cathy Ellsworth ~ Pilot Austin Burkett & his daughter transported Jackson <aka Zim> to Jacksonville and the arms of his foster mom Elizabeth.
Jackson wasted no time in getting comfortable & some kibble as he went on one last transport to his temporary home. We believe he is about 8-12 weeks old, lab / pointer mix and has energy to share with the right home. Watch for updates as we get Jackson to a vet in the next few days and prepare him for his forever home.
