New Official Airport Dog for Lonesome Pine Airport
Bogie’s story started about a year ago. He was abandoned and heart worm positive. The Spera family took him in. Bob Spera is the airport manager and owner of Liberty Flying Service at Lonesome Pine Airport, LNP. Bogie was the airport mascot until he suddenly passed over The Rainbow Bridge*.
The Speras contacted Inge at Second Chance & Happy Tails. They were ready for a new kid, and the airport was so lonely without a mascot. It happened that Tyler is a boston terrier who came from the very same high kill shelter in West Memphis, AR as Bogie and was looking for a new home. The match was made in heaven.
Thanks to the Boston Terrier Rescue of East, TN, Inga of Clarksville, TN, Mariana of Wise, VA, and Jim Carney, Tyler will have a great life. When Inga contacted Jim, his response was typical. “It’s my job to take Tyler up there, and Boggie will be on the flight in spirit.”
Bogie, as the official airport dog, will be missed by all who met him. Tyler will now be the official airport dog. Tyler, you have some big paws to fill!! You can do it.
Next time you are flying by the Lonsome Pine Airport, drop in and meet Tyler!! He accepts treats!!
We could not do what we do without wonderful pilots like yourself. We are truly indebted to our winged partners, for without you we would be just another rescue scrambling to get kids to their new homes without much success.
So on behalf of The Boston Terrier Rescue of East TN and Second Chance and Happy Tails I say THANK YOU to Jim and all of those we have dubbed Boston Air All Stars to helping us the way you do.
And in honor of Bogie our Boston Air Mascot we will continue in your memory to fly bostons both near and far and we say this: :”Who Said Boston’s Cannot FLY?”

* An Indian legend says: “When a human being dies, there is a bridge they must cross to enter into Heaven. At the head of the bridge waits every animal that human encountered during their lifetime. The animals, based on how that person treated them, decide which humans may cross the bridge… and which are turned away.”
Petmate and Subaru are dedicated to providing safe transportation in their own ways. Pilots N Paws can’t thank them enough for their support in our efforts to transport animals to safety.
