On June 24th, PNP Pilot and Board Member Jon Wells had an opportunity to speak about the role of Pilots N Paws to the 1st Class of the 2015 Aero Camp, that is put on by TTA Flight Training at the Greensboro, NC PTI Airport.

Youth from ages of 9-17 have an opportunity to learn all aspects of aviation to include a ride in a general aviation aircraft. During the Camp, invited guest speakers are brought in to talk of their personal involvement in aviation as well as selected themes. Each year, Jon finds time to break away from his position at Honda Aircraft Company and provide a brief lecture on aviation and Pilots N Paws.

According to Jon, he always tells the youth in attendance that “Flying is a Gift, and to try to give back to aviation what it has provided to you.”  He brought a dog from a local rescue, Jett, and showed how we transport animals safely and our role in animal rescue. The youth also had a chance to view Jon’s personal aircraft.  He spoke of how to combine training (Cross Country) with Pilots N Paws missions and provide “true meaning” to getting your Pilot Certificate.  Jon is an ATP with CFI/CFII/MEI and CFI-G certificates.
