PNP Pilot Jeff Bennett’s 3/19/2015 Pilots N Paws Transport (Ground)

Thursday’s transport started with the pick up of a little Chihuahua in Miami that was dumped at a local dog park with her bed and belongings. She was delivered to her new adopter in the Tampa area before I headed up to Marianna for the night.
Once the Alabama Rescue Relay arrived on Friday (7am central), we started loading pups and cats for the ride south. The first stop was in Wildwood where the Tampa dogs were picked up by their rescues. The next stop was in Orlando where I was met by two more rescues and an adopter of two of the passengers. My last stop was in West Palm Beach where the last 28 critters found rescue with A Second Chance for Puppies and Kittens.
There were two other pups of note – Newby (his name tag is visible in the photo) was found abandoned in a crate at a home with 1″ of feces and urine packed in the bottom of his crate. No one knew how long he had been there but he is now sure to find a good home. He went to WPB. The second pup was Abigail the Great Dane who was taken in after she was seen being beaten with a shovel. She was my copilot on this trip and a very good one. She is sure to be adopted quickly. She went to All Retriever Rescue in Tampa.

Thank you so much for the work you are doing! It’s heartbreaking to hear what some of these fur-babies have gone thru, but so very heartwarming to know they have the chance at a loving forever home thanks to the efforts of people like you!!!
