Co-pilot Tank

A handsome Labrador, TANK, from the Bainbridge shelter in Georgia completed his long awaited travel adventure to his forever home in Charlottesville, Virginia (thanks Debb Pyle). It was quite an ordeal to complete this transport and required the efforts of many since Charlottesville is a long way from Bainbridge.

Pilot Wayne Owens and Tank

Tank started his journey with Pilots N Paws pilot Wayne Owens in his very cool green plane. During the flight Tank was a very active lab and practically tried to fly the plane himself!

He was next greeted and picked up by good Samaritan David Ricke out of Kinston, North Carolina, who drove to pick Tank up in Georgetown, South Carolina where he had a sleepover with David’s two Dalmatians, Truckie and Phoenix. Tank loved the huge yard where he exerted lots of pent-up energy after being cooped up in a shelter kennel for many, many months.

Many months in the shelter

Tank made the final leg of the transport with Pilots N Paws pilot John Palmer, who flew Tank to his forever home in Charlottesville, Virginia!

HUGE THANKS and HUGS to ALL who participated in this adventure, especially Martina Oaten, who began the the search for a home for Tank, which ultimately attracted Debb’s attention and efforts to this very worthy mission.

Such a fun adventure...the journey home!
