Pilots N Paws

Throwback Thursday

Hi, I’m Lynda.  I received the Facebook messenger message from your organization asking me to share my story about my little Malitipoo, Freddie that your organization rescued.  I’ll tell you what I know and you may need to contact Chris Coulter, the founder/director of Old Dominion Boston Terrier Rescue (ODBTR) who played a big part in saving my Freddie, to fill in any missing parts. Chris used her own personal funds to save him.  He was picked up when they rescued a Boston Terrier at the high kill shelter in West Virginia.
Here’s the story that OBTR first posted on June 9, 2013:
Big day for ODBTR! Two pups from WV are flying in through Pilots N Paws. Thank you Kay Cross and Don Alexander wonderful pilots who donate their time +++ to help save shelter dogs. One we are taking is the Logan Co Boston momma who had 14 puppies who all died from distemper. I’ve been working over 6 weeks to get her out of there and finally got her out about 10 days ago. We’ve been boarding her until we could get her on a flight.
Andrea (the storm) kept pilots down until today (also schedules). Anyway the doll I call Bindi and no I don’t know why it just came to me when I saw her. It means beautiful. Not sure it will stick we’ll see how she likes it. She will be my foster. The second dog coming in is a little Maltipoo (I think he may be all Maltese) anyway he’s coming to me and on my dime not the rescues as a favor to one of the tireless Logan Co volunteers. I couldn’t find a Maltese rescue that could take him. Anyway He’s 9 months old and a DOLL so I’m sure finding him a home will be a snap. I’m told Bindi is young and a delight. It’s going to be fun at my house lol. Fingers crossed folks.
Later that day, OBTR posted the following:
The Alexanders flew Bindi and Freddie (not sure about that just trying it out) from WV this afternoon. They are dolls!!!
Attached is the pic of the flight.  My Freddie is the cute maltipoo in the photo.  I’ve also attached pics of Freddie at my home, including one with his brother, Fenway (the Boston Terrier – also a rescue) and his sister, Belle (long haired dachshund).
Once Freddie was rescued, Chris Coulter, the ODBTR founder/director nurtured Freddie and took care of all of his medical needs.  She and her husband gave him sooo much love!
I didn’t see the original posts about Freddie’s transport.  Instead, I saw him when he photo-bombed a pic that ODBTR posted on their Facebook on July 9th.  The post was as follows (the photo bomber photo is also attached to this email):
Carley and Freddie  There would be more photos of Carley but Freddie is a photo bomber.
I met Chris Coulter in Williamsburg on July 15th to pick up Freddie (see attached adoption photo).  It was love at first site.  He is a total sweetheart and makes me smile every day.  I am so happy to be his forever Mama!
