The “Duke” flies home after a year!
From a rescue volunteer:
I would like to thank pilots Michele McGuire and Elliott DeGraff for their help yesterday with Duke, a shepherd hound mix being rescued from the Pender County Animal Shelter in Burgaw NC to Helping Hounds rescue organization in DeWitt NY.
Duke spent a year at the shelter....
Michele picked Duke up bright and early in Rocky Mount and flew him up to Maryland. From there, Elliott picked him up and flew him to Syracuse NY where Helping Hounds president Karen Kukla greeted him and helped him take his first steps at a second chance.
Pilot Michele and Duke!
Pilot Elliott delivers Duke to freedom!
I hope Michele and Elliott know how thankful we are for their help and how grateful Duke is for the ride!!!!!
You guys are my ANGELS. I just am overwhelmed by the amount of Kindness that everyone has demonstrated throughout our plight to save Duke. Michele and Elliott deserve a HUGE pat on the back.
Thank you and Take Care,
