Two Sisters Find a New Loving Home

A lady in rural Mississippi lost her husband and had to move in with her son. But taking her two 9 year old American Eskimo dogs, Tootsie and Sassy, was not an option. She tried to find homes for them but to no avail, thus she took them to her vet to be euthanized (or find homes). The good vet contacted Michael Boston, a local volunteer who worked to help the dogs and ending up taking them to the airport. Through Facebook postings and reaching out to Eskie Rescuers United, a new owner was found, but she was in southern Florida.

The dogs went to a boarding facility until transport could be made. A posting on Pilots and Paws turned up an offer from Jim Carney, from Covington, TN. Due to weather conditions, several other pilots for the second leg came and went. Finally, Peri Worrell out of Tallahassee volunteered for a day that looked good to fly. It would be her first day to fly for PnP!!

Without the generosity and patience of the PnP pilots, the compassion of the vet and the diligence of the volunteers, these two beauties may have not have gotten to their new home! Karon Stewart organized the transport.  It definitely takes a village.

Great job on the two Eskimo sisters! Maintenance on my plane will be finished soon and I’m looking forward to more PNP flights. BTW, is Nina, the new owner of Eskimo sisters, single? 🙂
